Bio - Resume
Dan Holland is a Central Coast California artist living in Arroyo Grande (AG), near San Luis Obispo. He and his wife Louise have been living in California for over 30 years, working up the coast from LA (Long Beach) to Santa Barbara to AG.
Dan's work is all about movement and dynamic, in the moment decisions. After extensive drawing of real-world scenes and development of preliminary ideas, painting sessions take off with improvisation and gestural strokes. Sometimes it's rough around the edges - all the better to see the process and feel the action.
